NR Youngstown State (4-4)

Now that EWU shows two losses (I know, the other was to an FBS team, but Wazzou sucks), I’m afraid that could hurt them badly. It may be optimistic that they will only drop 6 slots, even though it was a road loss. (I could easily see them dropping out of the top ten, although I hope not.)

Sac State (now 6-3) is proving they are a quality opponent, so CP’s loss at their place should not be a disaster. A 5-spot drop is fairly typical, which is what I have guessed: I also projected a 5-slot drop for ‘Nova.

Since Delaware lost to a top-ten opponent, I do not expect them to drop much at all. Eastern Kentucky lost to an unranked opponent, so I figured they would barely hang on in the poll. Youngstown State, at 4-4, I figured is gone from the rankings. South Dakota State has been getting votes all along, so I figure their 6-2 records moves them in.

Note that TSN is back to hyper-ventilating over the CAA http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfoot2/indexpic.htm

It's hard to tell with the CAA these days, especially as they beat up on each other in conference play.
But the weekend wrap-up item says not one damn word about how the Big Sky teams are beating up on each other.

Doesn't Georgia Southern still play App St?
Yep. Next week. I'd say most on this board will be pulling for the Mountaineers (as will the folks at Wofford :) ).

I'll be one of them. Of course if App St wins that game NDSU will probably regain #1 again.

Probably true. But that might not last ... NDSU gets relative cupcake Missouri State (3-6) on the road next week, but they close with S. Dakota State (6-2) and then at Illinois State (7-2).

Did amazingly well on my guesses: I’m particularly glad to see that the pollsters matched my predictions on how far EWU and CP would drop after their losses. Could have been worse. Would have liked to see NAU move up more. ;)

The pollsters bumped NDSU right back to #1 rather than moving Ga Southern up. Perhaps a bit of a surprise, but they’ve been in love with NDSU right along. They reversed the 9-10 positions of Stony Brook and JMU -- so maybe their CAA bias is not quite as strong as I figured.

I nailed including South Dakota State in the top-25 and dropping Youngstown State. And slotting them in a #21 (I guessed #23) is not a shock since that puts them ahead of the 3-loss teams.

Note that Sac State did not miss by much getting in at the bottom. All they need to do is knock off the kitties next week and they’ll be in.
