Playoff Ticket Price Loophole

Correct me if I'm wrong, but as I understand it, the NCAA's playoff pricing policy requires the host team to set the price no less than lowest price charged during the regular season? $35 must have been our cheapest ticket this year? I think $35 is a bit ridiculous, especially around the Holidays. If this is indeed the NCAA's policy, UM should offer one ticket in the season for $20 and then make up the $15 by adding it on to another game's ticket price. Since most buy a season package, it all washes out to the same total price. Could this be a valid loophole?

I feel the $35 price tag on the playoff tickets keeps quite a few families watching it at home due to the Holidays. I can't recall any previous playoff tickets being $35? Could be wrong.....

It also appears MSU is able to sell cheaper tickets this weekend based on the section of the stadium you buy your ticket in as well. So clearly there are some loopholes, and you could strategically set up your ticket prices and plan for hosting post season games.

they have different prices for different section of the stadium this week. $40 and change for sideline reserved.

If $35 breaks a person, then they shouldn't be going to the game anyway. I buy Six seats at $35 each and pay high parking. I don't make a lot of money, but the Griz football team is my priority and they have earned my $$.

My friends sit in row 2, visitor side, 40 yd line and they paid $42 each. At least this is what they told me.

Yea, not a reality for a few, but I get what you are saying.

Sometimes it better you use your brain to find loopholes to better fill the stadium. UM gets no benefit for charging $35 over $20 in the playoffs. The NCAA keeps it all as I understand it.

I am still trying to find a loophole for my GSA fees I pay to be tax deductible again.... I agree, a loophole is always helpful. UM lawyers, get on this!

I'm lucky enough to spend the money, but I'd agree price point is likely keeping an awful lot of younger (broke) families from going. If you gotta pick between a couple hundred bucks for a football game and daycare expenses you pick football every single time, right? The kids can watch themselves or get a job and pay for their own daycare.

Yet people want to bitch because only 16,000 people attend.

Attendance for Stephen F. Austin in 1995 playoffs was 18,523 and I can’t think of any other game where I thought the crowd was louder. I won’t care how many show up because I know the folks who do attend will really want to be there. The crowd will be big enough for SELA to figure out where they are playing.

be careful...if you say that phrase 3 times PlayerRep shows up in the thread.

The south end zone is almost always empty, except when ewoo showed up. If those seats were sold at a discount for the non conference games would that be the loophole?

Great idea, this is why the Kittens have $20 end zone seat prices for this Saturday. $10 for kids 18 and under no less.
