Play Calling

Someone already mentioned this, but I thought the game plan and play calling was brilliant. It does always help the coach when your QB executes everything. However, after the App State game I thought for sure we would pound the ball in the running game. To begin with we lined up again and again as if we would run and then went play action. UND also thought we would run.

It was a great strategy. It also shows we are not in anyway one-dimensional and are unpredictable on offense.

There were about 6 play calls/formations used yesterday that were absolutely perfect. I was really impressed with that and also your QB bailed you guys out on 3rd down multiple times with perfect throws.

I would never have guessed that we'd pass that much. Loved it though. And we still had over 200 rushing! Teams won't be able to crowd the box this year and will have to respect our passing threat. I love how versatile we are this year.

We threw when everyone thought we would run. You're right, when 5 of the 20 are touchdowns you don't have to throw that much. Six if you count the smurfs TD.

I truly think our two biggest challenges this season will be to stay healthy first and foremost and stay out of the crime blotter. If they can do that, this team could simply amaze everyone in the FCS this year. With Jordy back and a few really nice pieces (like Van) added to the puzzle it could be one damn nice picture !!!
