Pics from tonight's Cat/Griz BB

I love this new tradition of introducing the BSC football champions at halftime of Cat/Griz...of course, I believe it may have started when the Cats finally broke the streak...and now their fans get to watch the Griz claim it over, and over, and over again-

Of course, I wish it was a National Championship trophy...but the message is still pretty good-

Nice shots too Mr. T!

I love seeing it celebrated when the big crowd is there, but still like the idea we are above the kitties crap. I never want to mention them.... unles it was the BEAT STATE t-shirts tonight. A Bobby reference if I have ever seen one.

Uh, the Griz football team ALWAYS gets introduced during the Griz/Cat game-for like 10 years running now. It's the only time you ever see the football them at a basketball game. I talked some smack to them when they were standing out there. Some of them looked at me. I hope the message got through: "Ya'll come back, now". I know 90% of them won't be at another b-ball game until next years UM/MSU game when they can get some recognition again. Otherwise they don't give a crap about basketball, like 99% of UM students. And you clowns want to be court-side again?? Gimme a break! You don't deserve it. The student support, especially the football tream, disgusts me.

From what I have observed the fb team doesn't seem to care much about the bb team and the bb team doesn't seem to care much about the fb team.

Maybe the bb team resents the FACT that this town is SO crazy about fb and only gets excited about bb about 2 or 3 times a year.
Maybe they're jealous that the fb gets to play in front of 22k every other weekend.

Maybe the fb resents the fact that they are not playing for the same prize that the MAJOR college programs do and the bb team ends up in March Madness at the end of a successful year right along side the "bigs". Win a game in 2006 and playing Boston College on national tv in the round of 32 (32 big schools). Being talked about all over the country by all bb fans - not just the ones that follow "that other division". People all over the country screaming #$%! damn Montana and throwing their brackets in the garbage.

I don't know - it always kind of makes me wonder. Maybe college athletes are just too cool these days to give a damn about anything else other than their own team. You always see a few fb players at bb games (and vice versa) but it has gotten to the point where I'm surprised to see them in the stands cheering - it doesn't seem like that should surprise me, but it does.

There is approximately 100 football players on the team at UM. Are all of them going to show up to every game... no, BUT I regularly see many football players at all the games. To suggest that football players never go to games is simply not true.
