Pat Kennedy's Towson Tigers' Season Comes to End

Pat Kennedy's Towson Tigers just dropped an opening round game in the Colonial Athletic Association tournament. Towson, a #7 seed lost to Georgia State (7-21), a #10 seed, 72-64, even though they had gotten two of their wins against Georgia State during the regular season.

Towson ended up 12-16 on the year - a considerable improvement over last year's 5-24 record but still leaving a lot to be desired. I give Kennedy one more year to at least break even and win an opening round game in the conference tournament or he's out of work.

He may last a year or two longer. He got hired by an old friend and he isn't exactly at a high profile school. The last winning season was 1995 when they went 16-12. When they were in the East Coast Conference they had some good teams.
 
Towson only loses 2 seniors this year. Also, their leading scorer (26 pts per game) was lost to injury midway into February. Given their weak past few seasons, I'd have to say Kennedy did a pretty good job this year. It looks like the tools are in place to enable them to do even better next year.
 
ESPN College Analyst said that the Colonial and the Misouri Valley Conference were the two best Mid-Major Conferences in the nation this year, and that they could see multiple teams get into the NCAA Tournament this year.

Big Sky was not even mentioned. Perhaps once our tournament starts we might get a blurb...don't blink!

Kennedy is overated. Caroll could beat Townson. Happy Kennedy resigned, Coack K is WAY better. Teaches a physical, hussle, hardworking type of game, and had passion for Montana ball. Kennedy was not a Montananan. Had no connection to program prior to contract..

Didn't he resign? Either way it was a good thing. I thought he was a decent coach, but his heart wasn't in it living in missoula. I also would have to say he did a pretty good job recruiting, and he kept Tinks in the program when he was hired.
 
He quit, out of nowhere. I know some players right around that time, who said he was at the team banquet, saying that he was looking forward to getting things geared up for next season, and then he was gone. They never heard from him again, not so much as a phone call. Classy, yes?

Reminds me of the football coach at Wyoming.
 
yah, he was suppose to come speak at our highschool and after he quit he cancelled about 2 days before the speech. He did produce a few good recruits on the team, I can give him that, I just lost respect when he cancelled the speech and left my school hosed.
 
...but remember that some of his most talented recruits either defected or got into academic trouble, which I don't think was much of a concern to him.
