Past Griz opponent Liberty to play Ducks in Fiesta Bowl

One of the best games I've ever been to was the 2004 game between Ohio State and Kansas State. OSU went up 35-14 at the end of the 3rd quarter, and everyone thought it was over. KSU scored twice in the 4th to make it 35-28, then got the ball back on their own 10 with 1:11 on the clock. Two quick passes to midfield, but the drive stalled there. Was an absolute blast to attend...I went to several. Always a full stadium (kind of like the Alamo Bowl is now)...

I can't believe the players and coaches even tried! Didn't anyone tell them it was a meaningless game?

They did not. It wasn't until AFTER that the players realized it was all meaningless.

That's cruel. Players gave it their all playing the game they love, they win, and have a huge celebration. During the Fiesta Bowl Championship Trophy presentation, the presenter tells them, "This means nothing. Here, take it if you want, but don't you dare feel any sense of pride or accomplishment after your hard work." and then throws the trophy on the ground and spits in their direction.
