It's true, he would be a great consultant and a strong moral force the football department needs right now.

Jeebus everyone, I know Don Read was a great, legendary, did all the right things coach...turned the program around, won the chipper...but seriously. It is time to let it go.

As an "Interim" Head Coach Don Read may be perfect.

If he is willing, he might be able to see us through this storm.

He is 78. The "football work" that he does is scout against one of the oregon schools for the other one...if he was 58...okay, but 78?? Really?? That being said, I will be behind him if he does interim...it just is...weird...besides...I think one of the underlying issues has been the "good ole boy" hirings.

I'm aware of his age, I just believe he could hold the fort down for a year to see us through this. That is, if the entire ranks of assistant coaches are not canned also.

Last night when I went to sleep I was thinking the New Orleans Saints had problems. Don't think that will be on my mind tonight. Who knows Don Read my well be our Bill Parcells.
