Perhaps he might be going in the right direction, though he did rationalize his appeal, tossing the blame for the appeal of a no-brainer penalty on his attorneys. Pacman says he wants to go back to West Virginia to finish his degree. THAT is admirable as it seems that most athletes that leave early never finish. Should be fairly easy for him to get two semesters in (plus a possible two summer terms) if his no-grounds appeal is denied (as seems likely). Former 'Eer teammate Chris Henry, already suspended for half the year, should just take the entire year off and join Pacman back at WVU if he left early as well. They could both make big strides in getting back in the NFL's (and the fan's) good graces by finishing their degrees. I don't know how much they have left, but if one year plus two summers isn't enough, it will still knock a huge chunk out of it. They should still be able to finish over one or two spring and summer terms after (assuming, of course, that their respective NFL teams don't make the playoffs after they're reinstated).

I wish we could go back to the days when nobody could be drafted until his class had graduated or until HE had graduated. It not only gave the NFL more mature athletes, it also made for some interesting stories as teams tried to get around that. I still remember reading about how teams raised the BS flag when the Rams drafted Norm Van Brocklin early (afraid that other teams were about to take him out from under them). He was a little ahead of the game as far as his degree went, but had to do some summer work to finish up the summer before his rookie year. But there was a required PE class that Oregon didn't offer during the summer. It looked like he and the Rams were going to get busted by the NFL until he found another school that would provide it for him: Vassar. Now, THAT's a great story! We don't get that anymore. In fact, I'm surprised that we're not drafting Pop Warner stars yet. The whole idea just sets me off. What the cr@p is going to happen to these kids after they blow their money on toys and bad investments and they blow out their ACL? Sheesh!

All I hear from him is... 'Blah Blah Blah, I act like im in the NBA, or that I play for the bengals."

Pacman isn't a Bungle. That's his buddy Chris Henry. Pacman is an Oiler. (I refuse to recognize a name they stole from New York.)

I bet him and his neighbor George Jones have some good stories to share. It's a little late for an apology Pacman. Enjoy the sabattical
