I am watching Syracuse/Cincinnati on ESPN now. Syracuse is always a joy to watch. Without fail, their matchup zone defense just amazes me. Also am loving watching their PG Carter-Williams.

I know the GRIZ are great defensively, but to get even near Syracuse level, we are missing shutdown paint defenders. We do have the depth at 1, 2, and 3 to execute that kind of defense consistently at those positions. Dunn's quickness will be a huge benefit to the returnees too.

I really am praying Wayne can add a few true bigs, and Martin develops physically. If so, the GRIZ could compete with big boys easier.

I love watching Syracuse, as well. Another fun, if less successful program, is Arizona. basketball can be so great when coaches and personnel match. UM has a lot of that but like you point out, a talented
big guy is needed....Weber state has a guy that was "doubled'consistently by Sac State and still managed to score....a luxury.
