Opening Game

I was just informed that USC will not play Montana. The only game that they will play other than Idaho, would be Hawaii. I have been told that there is no reason that they would risk thier strength of schedule by playing a team like Montana.

Personally I'd rather we played Washington, Oregon,Wassu, Oregon St, Wyoming, Boise St, Nevada, Utah or BYU. It would be much easier for the Griz Nation to travel there.

We won't ever see these these teams on the schedule again. They don't pay enough. Washington and Oregon do.

Ronbo you won't see those teams anyway as most of them are trying to only schedule 1A games and avoid 1AA games. ESPN has leaned on the Big12 to schedule fewer 1AA games as well.

I'm against playing any bcs team if it means not going to sdsu this year! If the griz keep the sdsu game on their schedule and play a bcs school that is fine, other wise the griz need to quit backing out of games against the other fcs teams.

I call bullshit on this until I see some proof. Backer is always bitching at other posters for "starting rumors" every time a I-A coach gets fired, and he can't even give up a source on this USC crap. :lame:

GrizFan, can for sure give you the inside on this. Check with him.
Hauch advisors are probably behind this, the exposure would be great, and also the ability to showcase Phenicie, OC attributes.

Yes, send me a check along with your application for Membership into the USC Song Girl Mile High Club.
Oh,sweet Hasus (for our illegal-crossing friends) I hope my hand stops shaking so I can fill out the application.

He's making out the pie chart as we "speak" explaining how we'll give those "pesky Trojans" (don't forget those GB) a run for their money.
Ah crap, I got us another "split thread" didn't I?

Split threads are awesome.

WOW! A buddy of mine was telling me about this yesterday. I thought he was full of it.He was told that Bobby is really happy about being able to play in the Pac-10 and against one of the premier schools in the country. This is crazy stuff.

I wasn't supposed to say anything, but those damn USC Cheerleaders teased me into it. :thumb:

Curse of the White Sweaters.....

I'm so there.
IMG! for a minute I thought that was me,off to the left hand side........ and then I remembered, my behind does not look that good anymore, almost, but not quite that good!!!!

I just wonder why USC would buy-out Idaho to play the Griz... what could they gain by doing this, as another poster stated, it would decrease their SoS?!?[/quote]

that could happen, not a good matchup for the Griz though, I understand the money they would get, but were talking a 50 point loss here, IMO not worth it

all depends what you want, the money would help more after the game, but the loss would hurt, sorry I d watching PSU miss the playoffs cause they decided to schedule team like California and Oregon

Hurt? Not so sure it would hurt losing to USC by 50. We'd be expected to lose by 50. Might hurt if we lose by 100, but not 50. And the Song Girls? They'd make it all feel better. The Song Girls are the best thing about California.

Are you sure it would decrease their strength of schedule? With the team Idaho had vs. Montana, Montana may have had a better Sagarin rating.

With the state UW football is in they might not be too interested in playing a team that could very well give 'em a run for the money.

I would love to play those guys, we'd probably have 3,000 - 4,000 griz fans out there, if not more and we'd certainly give them a run.

UW will probablly be looking for a lighter load after their first 3 games:

1. Syracuse
2. Boise State
3. Ohio State

what weekend would we play them?

Griz would stand a serious chance of beating the DAWGS.

I don't know. UW has a redshirt freshman QB next year from Ferndale, WA that is supposed to be the second-coming...

Given that they almost pulled him off of his redshirt status toward the end of the season, he may actually start this year.

SC already plays 9 conference games against BCS competition, along with 2 of 3 non-conference games against BCS competition. There's no need to worry about SC S.O.S..

Florida and Ohio State on the other hand....
