Just got the opportunity to drive to Iowa and watch the wrestling trials at Carver Hawkeye Arena. Man, what a show. 13000 people in to watch some of the greatest athletes this country has to offer. It was interesting to talk to some of the people there where wrestling doesn't have to take a back seat to basketball. They routinely pack in almost 16000 to watch a dual. 17 titles in the last 40 or so years...just awesome. They really support their local boys too, Zadick, Metcalf, Gable it's one of the few places I've ever been to beside WGS where the energy of the crowd gives you that feeling in your stomach. If anyone ever gets the chance to go for wrestling it is a must do. Oh and the wrestling was pretty damn good too.
