I thought these guys deserved their own thread this week. They played their best game of the season against what was the second best front they had faced. The running lanes really opened up in the second half and they gave Ah Yat time to throw as well. The rotation of the centers is the only frustration I have with this group this week. Other than that they deserve a shoutout for being the most improved unit this week!

I agree! With the seams they were creating and finding their targets on the pull blocks and giving Ah Yat time to throw, even when the Vandals were bringing more hats than blockers.

In addition, need to add the WR's blocking to this because it's truly a team effort. There were a number of plays, Wortham's TD run to the left being one, that the play doesn't happen unless the WR blocks.

I still don’t know why we are rotating that position, but can’t argue too much with the results, for now.

The communication was on display last night and I really saw the tackles communicating to the guards and the centers communicating with the guards and establishing their assignments and led to a lot better protection and pass-offs leading to far less free rushers unless truly overloaded.

In relation to how we maintained our splits and run lanes, I also noticed how minuscule the splits were for Idaho’s offensive line and you can tell that if teams don’t tighten up our defense will be a problem.

The TE’s and outside guys were putting in a lot of work too, especially second level and yards down field.
