Oklahoma Panhandle St...

He could have scheduled Rocky and we would have been able to see more boys from Montana play which is such a big thing in the minds of many.
But seeing several of them walking wounded after the game is not such a big thing in the minds of many.

Things have really gone down hill when people say, "I would have been really thrilled to travel to the Kibbie Dome..."

LOL... yeah... I would like to rekindle the UI-UM rivalry though.

Agree, but Haslam has confirmed that, like the WAC, the Sun Belt also has the rule that its members cannot play at FCS venues, so no home and home with Idaho.

I thought Idaho was an FBS-Independent for the coming seasons?

Haslam is correct. Very tough to schedule home games OOC. I agree I'm not overly excited about OPSU but NOBODY and I mean nobody wants to play at Wa Griz OOC without about a half a mil guarantee. Would you rather just have a bye week or bring in a patsie from Ok for a simulated practice, give them their 50 or 75 k and send them on their way and bring about 500,000 of revenue to UM. Everybody wants to bash the schedule but they don't understand the whole story.
Just because fans don't like it doesn't mean they don't understand it; two totally different issues. If the University was not so aggressive in bleeding money away from the football program, we could afford to bring in a decent opponent. It's a money game and just another instance of UM taking advantage of season ticket holders. Because they can.

Home and homes are available from many upper level FCS programs. But we don't like the consequence of the away game that goes with it. E.g., the OOC UND game this year (Three straight years at Grand Forks is not the ideal schedule either.) The AD has to maximize revenue to pay the taxes to Main Hall. My granddaughter will enjoy my Pan Handle St. ticket; the Missoula bars will be the loser.

Season (2013), singular. Back to the Sun Belt starting 2014, western div.

So what you're saying is ... Missoula will miss your alcoholism. :)
I drop my share, but doubt I will be missed. But I will bet that they have a poorer weekend with Pan Handle St. overall than they would with a respectable game.

I don't think MSU lost to Central Washington
Wrong.

Considering the Sanctuary City's historic attitude toward panhandlers you could almost build a theme weekend around the appearance of the Okies from Goodwell...

I'm sure the attitude of the Amish guy and the good folks in the athletic department is the fans will come no matter the opponent. In other words....the hell with the fans if they don't like Panhandle.

They play something called Southwest Assemblies of God. For Homecoming.

Serious.

Why are we playing this game?

I can't stop laughing at this. This is such a joke.

SAGU is no joke - and it's their homecoming game... The Panhandlers are going on the road for a big pay day in Waxahachie, Texas. The match up will be played in 10,000 seat Lumpkins Stadium ,which also means SAGU could become Fullerton's next target since they have as many seats as half of the current BSC membership. Can it get any better than this :?:... I hope not

Panhandle and SAGU! The plot uncovered....the Amish guy and Fullerton plan to recruit two Big Sky Conference members!

Not that long ago that the Scats went down to Chadron and Central Wash???????

I don't think MSU lost to Central Washington (we almost did), but Chadron and Central Washington would take OPSU to the woodshed. :coffee:

CSU-Pueblo never took OPSU to the woodshed. Why would Chadron or C-Dub?

This is what I don't get, on one point people get irritated that we play a school that has no football tradition, no stadium and play in a conference that doesn't matter outside of the people who play in it. Yet, interestingly enough most people outside of Missoula, Bozeman, don't care about the Big Sky...Heck even here in Idaho, Boise State, who used to be in the Big Sky and has enough fans who remember the day, could care less what facilities, fanbase and success the UofM, ISU, or MSU has. They just see it as a step down. We may not think so, that there is a gap, that we aren't that far away, but for most people outside of those programs, the fans believe it is wide as the grand canyon.

Here is another way to look at it,

I remember my first years of teaching (in Thompson falls) and I had kids who were there because of their drug/alcohol issues and could not conceive why anyone in their right mind would live in a state like Montana. Most couldn't put Montana on a map and some where wondering exactly when we got electricity and indoor plumbing. The point is, I guess is perception. What we value and don't value is truly unique to where you are at. I just don't see a point at minimizing something that is so entirely relative.

In my decade of coaching experience I have sent far more kids to DII schools than Div I (FCS or FBS) and while kids love playing at DII schools there is no illusion as to why they are there. In fact most long term DII coaches will probably tell you the same thing. The higher you go, and the level of competition and talent increases the more likely you are going to find a whole different level in regards to the illusion as to why they are there. I don't think that is surprising to anyone. The transition between division II and a lot of FCS schools isn't as large as you would think it would be, but at the same point the rule is the same between some of FBS and FCS schools.

No football tradition? You need to check out the name Jim Holder.

OPSU's seating chart is as complex as was the chart for the UM facility the last time they (UM) won a national championship.

2506, how many faculty members or even college staff members are still around at mseuliss that were employed there the last time the bobcats one a football national title?
It's been so long at state that you had to print it on the field so that the fans could remember.
