Okay, Which is Bigger ...

(2015 NDSU)-1 or( 2016 UNI)-1 (might be #1 of 2, since could meet them in the playoffs :) ),

Thought by now, someone would have slowed down the celebratory drinking to bring this up ... but they have not, so I will.

Which was the bigger win for the "new" Griz" program: the opening 2015 win, at home, over defending champion NDSU; or today's win, on the road, over FCS #3 Northern Iowa? Of course, the 2015 win was Stitt's first game with the Griz, but there's plenty to make the latest win stand out.

Both were huge, but I can't decide. (I have a leaning, but that's it.)

Really? Lol...

I think for early rankings, a road game, in which we led the whole way, will benefit us more.
While the NDSU game was a home win, we didn't lead the whole game.
But then we had to face Poly, which caught us.
Let's see how this tastes again next weekend after Poly, shall we?

After UNI beats EWU at the inferno, and NDSU falls to UNI on the road; this win will suddenly mean a whole lot more.

I thought the Griz did exactly what they needed to today. Played it smart, playbook is very limited when you are starting inside your 10 yard line, which was quite a bunch, I think there were only 4 or 5 drives that started outside the 25, while UNI was around midfield most of their starts. When you take this account, what our defense did was very impressive. It's hard to go on the road and win against an average team, let alone a very physical team, that is very good on both sides of the ball. Both great wins, but today might get the nod from me. Lets sit back and enjoy it, we might have a special season. Great teams find ways to win.

Absolutely!

There are so many levels where you can "rate" a game -- won or lost. NDSU-1 was crucial because it gave Stitt, the new system/staff, and the team some momentum and confidence ... and (perhaps) enough momentum to win the games needed to get into the playoffs. Then, of course, came NDSU-2, which was a total bummer.
The UNI-1 win is important because it gives the Griz two D-I wins to open the season and shows they can go on the road and beat a top-notch team.
