The Wildcats will take on the Big Sky regular season champs and top-seed Montana Grizzlies, Thursday inside Dahlberg Arena in Missoula, Montana. “It’s good for these kids to go experience the tournament,” said Weber State Head Coach Randy Rahe. “A lot of these guys haven’t experienced the conference tournament yet, so I think it’s going to be a good experience for them to get up there and go through it.” This will be the third time in four years that Montana has hosted the tournament, and the Wildcats haven’t had a win in Missoula since 2009.
“We’re going to fight them like crazy,” Rahe said. “Anything can happen in a tournament atmosphere. We’ve got everything to gain, nothing to lose. We just need to go there and take full advantage of our opportunity.” Wildcats fans likely remember the last two times the tournament was in Missoula -- championship game losses for WSU. So too does James Hajek, the only member of the current WSU team that was there for both defeats. “I’ve gone up there all five years, and I haven’t won up there,” said Hajek. “It’s a tough place to play. It’s a fun place to play. They always have a great crowd, so it’s a fun place to play. It would make it sweeter to beat that home team. They’re the No. 1 seed, so it would be nice to knock them off.”
. . . A big question mark for the ’Cats is whether or not Jeremy Senglin will play in the tournament. When he first injured his jaw against NAU, it was estimated that he would be cleared in four weeks. That time expires this week. However, Rahe gave no indication about Senglin’s status earlier this week.
I can't see Senglin sitting, I believe he will play.
