Now that the Griz are out who should I root for if anyone?

To each their own. I have always rooted for the Cats, when they weren't playing the Griz, and NEVER have when they were. Been doing that since the mid 50's, and I see absolutely no reason to change it now. There are enough things in this world today that I don't like, that I am not interested in making another MONTANA team with a lot of MONTANA boys on it, one of them. Like I said, "To Each Their Own" IMHO.

Wow, mid 50's. With Montana in the Skyline Conf and annually playing Wyoming in Billings, I was hardly aware MSC even played football until the BSC and Sweeney of the 60's. There's a lot to be impressed with today's MSU, but their football fanbase is not one of them. I will watch them but decline to "root." I think it's theirs to lose this year.

As is your right to do, IMHO. Also agree on theirs to lose, but I hope they don't. ;)
 
My formative years are late 80's to 2000, so never really thought of Cats as much of a threat until recently. I hope they win the natty, and I'll laugh when their dumb fans sing about the Griz after. I probably don't care enough to pay for more ESPN+ or spend time watching, but they are a pretty fun team to watch.

My thoughts too. Bobcat fans are already insufferable enough thinking they’ve passed us as a program even tho we just won the Big Sky and made a natty last year. Something they are hoping to do this year.

They would be non tolerable.
