Yep - this is the rare case where a program wins even though the team lost the game. Coming into the year, ND was in serious need of some good coverage and they are getting it. Personally, I'm kind of shocked that Weiss has been able to get ND playing so well this quickly. USC had far better athletes and their team speed is unbelievable, yet ND was in it until the end. More proof that coaching may indeed matter more in college football than any other major sport.
It'll be interesting to see if Weiss can start recruiting some blue chip talent and get the program back on top. Give that man some better talent and look out. He can flat out coach the game of football.
USC should run the table now. Cal and UCLA may give them a game but I don't think that either can beat them. I'm not a big USC fan but if they match up with Texas in the championship game I hope they kick some serious Longhorn ass.
