Not Another Move Up Thread??

The Dakota schools are (or should be) such natural rivals. They all played in that Div. II conference for decades. Maybe it is because the cat-GRIZ game is my reference point but I just don't understand why they are not in the same conference (MVC) and why UND & NDSU don't play each other every year--Idaho & Idaho State too (I'm aware of that silly WAC rule).

I also don't believe that they are western teams or belong in the Big Sky--what ever that is now these days(i.e. Foolerton's empire building). Grand Forks, Fargo & Brookings are all in the far east sides of their states and close to the Minnesota border. Vermillian borders Iowa. They are mid-west teams in mid-west locations that geographically belong in a mid-west conference. Maybe this looks different to an eastern Montanan? I just don't think they belong in the Big Sky.

I think you might be onto something there. I have a friend who is a pediatrician that went to UND. He uses the foulest of expletives every time we talk about NDSU. He was a passionate supporter of SHSU to win the championship game last year.

They do if the BSC starts at the eastern border of Washington and Idaho. But not the current configuration, so much.
