North Dakota Sioux vs Montana

UND is a very weak opponent. They have a hard time with D2 opponents. We should not even be close with them.
Griz won by 20 and played well. North Dakota worried me because they had a road win over the University of Missouri (KC). UMKC has wins over Wichita State and Bradley. The North Dakota team I saw tonight was not very impressive. They really paid for leaving Stauds alone on multiple occassions. Hasquet also played well and scored over 20 points. Johnson had 14 and Banny had 6 rebounds in not too many minutes. Kyle Sharp also played aggressively and had a good night.

I think this is a good win for the Griz. They performed well after a tough loss and have a chance to right the ship a little bit this week at their own tournament if they can get a couple of wins against Denver and Texas-Arlington. I'm sure the whole focus is to get ready for the Portland State game on 12-20. I continue to like what I see from Anthony Johnson. He continued to play well off the bench and looks like he is starting to become a much needed vocal leader on this team. His comments after the Santa Clara loss about focus and intensity and his push with Hasquet in pre-game last night seemed to have paid off in what I thought was improvement in both of those areas. Keep it up Griz!

I agree that UND looked awful. They proved once again, if you pay absolutely no attention to Ryan Staudacher he is deadly accurate. McGillis and AJ had so much room to operate they didn't seem to know what to do sometimes. The Griz turned down good look after good look waiting for the gimme, which seemed to happened every time if the Griz were patient. Griz looked great, but UND's defense was about the worst I've ever seen. They have a decent, confusing offense, but their was no D to be found from North Akota last night.

I found it ironic that the Griz started more guys from the state of North Dakota than UND did. 1-0. I was watching the UND bench when Qvale was introduced and their whole team and coaches were watching Qvale intently and you could just sense a collective "How did we let this one get away?"

Even though UND's tallest starter was 6'5", Qvale could not win the opening tip, but he did have a pretty solid game.

The ND guy tipped the opening jump ball on early on it's way up. The ref just stood there like a stooge and let it go. :?
