North Alabama Lions Scouting Report

Appears UNA has young starters at C and LG and if depth chart is accurate maybe a bit undersized. With Griz D scheme and personnel at NT that could be a nice advantage, getting a good push up the middle.

UWI and UNA had about same time of possession. Two or three long passes and one long run made up about half of UNA’s total offense. UNA punted 8 times with a 35 yrd average. UNA was 4-16 on 3rd down conversions and 0-1 on 4th down conversions.
Griz offense was stellar with 3rd down conversions and two punts.
If UNA has to punt 8 times this week and Griz limit the big chunk plays things could get ugly for UNA. JLM would love 8 punt return opportunities. Sneed and the offense on the road were consistent at moving the chains. It put USD in a bad position trying keep pace and UNA at home was inconsistent, that could be real bad on the road this week.

Bold prediction. Griz run for 150 and pass for 350.

I like Knight to get 150 total yards. A combination of rushing and receiving! He reminds me of John Nguyen, but is shiftier and faster. He along with Eastwood and Sneed should put us over 200 yards from the back field. I count those swing passes as runs. Thanks Brint!

knight seems shifty but I'm not sure shiftier than Nguyen but I would say he is definetly faster than John.

It took ten minutes of watching two practices to see that Rice and Knight would start sooner rather than later.... but, then again, I never played the game :thumb:

If you had played the game, you would have known faster.

Well...Duh

In Duncan Hodges, they have the 2018 Payton Award winner, Devlin Hodges’ brother on roster.
Useless, but interesting point.
