Under federal law, sexual violence refers to physical sexual acts perpetrated against a person's will or where a person is incapable of giving consent -- including rape, sexual assault, sexual battery, sexual abuse and sexual coercion.

OCR's mission is to ensure equal access to education and promote educational excellence throughout the nation through the vigorous enforcement of civil rights. OCR is responsible for enforcing federal civil rights laws that prohibit discrimination by educational institutions on the basis of disability, race, color, national origin, sex, and age, as well as the Boy Scouts of America Equal Access Act of 2001. the phrase "witchhunt" simply furthers the war on woman. Women are typically gatherers and not hunters so you should use the phrase "witchgatherings" instead.

This is part and parcel of the DOJ and Dept. of Education trip to Missoula and the consent degrees they entered into with the University and the City of Missoula. Fred Van V. had the temerity to question the authority they had to review local prosecutor decisions, so they came after him in another way.

For political purposes it is imperative that the "war on women" meme continue and the Obama Administration and national Democrats be seen as the Knights of the Roundtable. Women, particularly younger and single, are part of the crumbling edifice of the two Obama presidential runs. If they don't keep them in the fold, the midterms are going to be a disaster. The other issue the national Democrats are using to bring them back to the fold is the gender pay issue, despite the fact that it has been the law in the United States for over 50 years (Kennedy Administration) that women are entitled to equal pay for doing the same work as a man.

This list at the beginning of the thread is simply a list of institutions where an investigation has been requested. I'm sure that some are legitimate and others are not. But it makes it a greater "scandal" and a bigger headline, if all the institutions are listed and let people infer that crimes have been committed at all of the institutions. Have you ever heard of a local prosecutor offering a list of all persons who are being interviewed as suspects in the course of a criminal investigation?? Of course not, and that is what suggests that a political agenda is being served here, not a legitimate search for truth. Even thinking of another federal agency, have you ever heard of an agency, on its own accord, releasing a list of suspected violators named by outside parties that is totally uncorroborated and vetted at this point?

This issue has been massaged for several years now, certainly including the trips to Missoula, and it is being publicly unveiled just in time to have the maximum effect on the midterm elections. I even learned (PBS) that a message has been taped by President Obama and Vice President Biden that will be played in movie theatres throughout the country beginning in a few weeks.

You're suggesting a politician is trying to influence an election?? Huh. Well THAT'S never happened before....

Royce's capitulation to the feds makes today's Wall Street Journal as an example of academia's kowtow on sexual assault to the Obama Administration hardliners:
