The GF Tribune reports the following on attendence at Washington Griz.
"UM is averaging 23,271 fans per game, more than twice as many as any other Big Sky school. The Bobscats (my spelling) are second with 11,382.
More than one-third af all fans who have watched Big Sky home games were in Missoula. The Gizzlies have attracted 69,814 fans to their three home games; the rest of the league has drawn 124,675.
The Grizzlies are the only Big Sky school that draws better at home than on the road. Northern Arizona, boosted by a huge crowd at ASU, is averaging 20,514 for its four games but just 7,577 at home."

What more can one add.........Good job griz fans!!!!!!!!

:D the atmosphere at WGS these days is totally awesome. It is hard to explain the adrenalin feeling one gets when "Cotton-Eyed Joe comes on and we get the see the "other" Griz mascot do his dance. Monte's arriving in the stadium gets every one totally pumped (all 23000+). The noise is deafening although it is hard to tell when sitting in the NZone...

You know you have a wonderfull (kick ass) wife when she follows the Griz with you, not having seen a live game in Montana prior to this year, gets online to vote for Monte every day (she loves the dancing), and is willing to drop some cash if the Griz make it to the NC this year. God I love my wife.

Anyways, trust me, Wash Griz is the best, bar none, in IAA. I took my wife this year to a game. She couldn't believe the crowd. She's a U of New Mexico former student/alum thingy... ah whatever. Anyhow, she absolutely loved the crowd's energy and the game atmosphere.

Hell, if it wasn't for us getting married last year I would have been in Montana for another game. I plan on making it to two in Missoula this year. Wish I didn't live so far away  .
