No Playoffs

NDSU may have done us a huge favor, not only losing, but getting shut out, by an unranked team.

As much as I would love to see another game.... griz are incapable of winning anymore this season. They are tired and beatup and letdown.

I feel bad for chase and the others who have won tons and played very hard... but to get embarrassed in a first round playoff game with multiple turnovers and an anemic passing offense would just crush them more.

What are everyone's thoughts on this coaching staff's chances of righting the ship next season?

I think next year could be harder next year as well. EWU and MSU will be good again and Sac State is improving.

I think the defense could be great next year with all the linebackers and Tru coming back and getting back some injuries on the line but the offense is a BIG question make. Whos the QB? Whos the runningback? Those are big holes for next season unless we get a drop down or somebody really steps up.

I do like our receivers for next year though...Moutra, Jabin, Atkins, Gratton, Carver all back.

If the playoff committee is looking for a regional matchup for NDSU, Cal Poly, or even NIU or McNeese, then they see Montana as a no-brainer to host the play-in game.

I hate when we got in because of those reasons in the past..98 and 2005 come to mind. It takes all the wind out of our east coast bias arguements!

#16 Penn does not participate in the playoffs,so eliminate them from consideration too. I initially thought we were done, but I am starting to wonder. The Griz lost to the #8 team, they shouldn't drop too far in the rankings or considered teams and $ IS a real consideration in a division where most playoff games LOSE $.

Your out, the NCAA is not short of money (that was an old AD's tale) they make over 700 million each year and spend 40% of it running championships. The FCS playoffs are not a stand alone enterprise, the bids are not opened until all the pairings are completed.
