This was back when they played the real NC game like real FB players in December. Anyone can play this soccer bowl bullshit in Francisco, Texas in January on the Ocho with fans winning raffles to sub in during the fourth quarter.

Was that runner up #6 or #7 for the Griz?

Lost count how many times they have pissed it away on the main stage.

See, it's posts like this why no on likes you.

You need to try harder.

Identical to the commentary over on the gogravy board.

That was a cold, damp night in Chattanooga. We were seated next to a couple of attractive college aged women who didn't seem to really have much of a rooting interest either way. One wasn't adequately prepared for the weather, so I gave her my stocking cap to wear in order to stay warm. Late in the game she left briefly and returned with my thank you gift purchased at the stadium merch table, a Villanova hat.

Ummm, thanks??

Not really what I needed to lift my spirits at that point. But I still have the hat, primarily because it doesn't get a great deal of wear.

I remember the TV guys mentioning that the fans had already been talking about a move to FBS, and that a win would really hey that momentum going.

Bad memory, but it was worse being at the 96 chipper in West Virginia. Randy Moss looked like a hs kid playing against a bunch of sixth graders.

Or, one of the top wide receivers in NFL history playing against FCS players.

As bad as the ‘Nooga game memories are that was a hell of a fun place to be. That area was a great experience in terms of nightlife, great food and history. Kinda the opposite of a suburban multiplex in Frisco, I imagine. Everett, remember the App state guy who came to the chipper anyway? And the Georgia Bulldog player and his buddy that that thought he could outdrink Montana fans? Hahahaha. I still remember that look on his face when he made a sudden lunge toward the men’s room...and came up a few yards short of the goal...

The three playoff games leading up to that title game are my all-time favorite memory as a Griz fan. The epic comeback, the complete defensive domination of the nation's leading offense, and the showdown between the top 2 programs of the decade in the best game I've every personally witnessed at Washington-Grizzly stadium.

Created a login to this board for the sole purpose of saying (writing...) that The Epic Comeback was the best football game I've watched in my life, period. This coming from a Bobcat fan. The other playoff games that season are also way up there. I think Bobby willed that comeback from his gut. To me, it looked like he just decided they'd take care of it, erase the lead and win the game, slips his trademark sunglasses back on, then went about his business like "no big whoop". It was awesome and if I could I'd demand that someone at U of M make a documentary of that single game I would. I'd watch it annually with my Bobcat hat turned backwards and maybe upside down in reverence to that game, Bobby and the team that pulled it off.

Related: was in Tampa for business last year and got a Uber. The driver says "where you from?" - which lead to him telling me he was on the team that lost The Epic Comeback.
