nguyen

it is pretty slow here, so i thought it wouldn't be too bothersome for most if i bumped this thread towards the top of the list again, where it belongs.

I have said this on every negative John Nguyen thread for the last 3 years. He is one of the toughest RBs I have ever seen play for the Griz. I used to cringe everytime he ran into the line as, more often than not, he would get hammered. Still does, but, every damn he time he has bounced up and jogged back into position. I don't think he has ever even flinched, or limped. I don't remember him ever missing a game because of injury. He just bashes himself into tacklers all game long. Thank you John and Peter. We should all be honored to have you here. I know I am.

If all the upperclassmen (won't mention names) worked as hard, played as hard, as humble, gutsy and treated underclassmen as he does luke leaders should from what I have heard this team would not have been on the outside looking in on playoffs.

For as much as people dogged on him about speed or juking too much, that kid has no quit. Watching him play is like watching Chad Newell play for the Cats. All fire, no quit, no pout, 110% on every play. Newell might be more vocal, but both of them bring passion, fire, and focus that is sometimes lacking on the rest of the team. I shudder to think what will happen next year without his blocking and his underutilized receiving skills. I am very happy he is a Griz. Both of the Nguyen kids.
Hes not the senior leader that Newell is, that's something the Griz are lacking is senior leadership. I have no idea why but I like the blame the coaches.

The UNC fans sitting behind me at the game were super-impressed by Nguyen. Couldn't believe his strength/size ratio....watching him run around, through and over guys was pretty cool to watch, and to hear unbiased third party reviews---ALL positive....gonna miss him. Sure would have like to see him run behind a decent line....
