NFL Draft 2016 -- Non-Wentz Version

Those of you who still want to discuss (piss and moan about) the Wentz (and/or Goff) picks may carry on elsewhere.

Meanwhile, a second FCS player, kinda, has been drafted ... in the second round, #39: Noah Spencer, linebacker from Eastern Kentucky. Maybe not the best move, since Spencer was kicked totally out of the Big Ten (Ohio State) for drug use. Oh well, maybe he is clean and will stay that way. (Would have liked to see a better representative from the FCS level, personally).

Solid player for sure. Didn't Holmes pro day numbers blow his out of the water, too? Hoping Tyrone gets drafted. He deserves it.

Just shows what's important in the League. If you got the talent, someone will take a shot....

Hmmm ... not FCS, but interesting.

Tampa Bay drafts -- in the second round -- a kicker (from Florida State)? Yes, he was the Groza winner at one point, but that has not happened (if I heard it right) since 2005.

Gee ... could the Griz "draft" a kicker? They need one, from what we hear.

Samford CB James Bradberry goes 62nd to the Panthers
Must be a story there. This is the second year in a row that a Samford CB was drafted high (apparently also in the 2nd row, if I heard it right).

Interesting fact as of this moment.

With the pick from Middle Tennessee, the non-power-five FBS conferences finally pulled ahead of FCS in the number of picks ... 4 to 3. But that was the first pick in the third round, so the FCS had the same number of picks in the first two rounds as all the non-power-five FBS conferences.

After a long, long lull, we have another FCS player drafted: Java Hargrave, defensive tackle from South Carolina State ... 3rd round, #89. Out of the MEAC, and I have to admit, I've never heard of him. (But the scouts found him anyway.)

10-4 now FBS and that's not including Notre Dame's 5 picks. 3 from BSU, 2 from Utah St, and one each from La Tech, Memphis, Houston, BYU, and Mid Tenn St.

Yep, the good showing early by the FCS was bound to end pretty quick. I suspect that was just teams cherry-picking guys they had spotted that they didn't want someone else to grab. With that taken care of, most of the rest of the FCS talent will move where they more or less always do ... in the final two rounds. I doubt we'll see many FCS picks in the 5th round.

I was just looking online and somebody has Holmes as the #1 rated edge player left on the board, #88 overall. Hope this means he gets picked in the next 2 rounds (4-5). I'm a moron so can't paste a link.

I was hoping to piss, and also moan, but mostly piss, about Goff. Is this the right place? Can I moan here? More importantly, may I piss here?
