Griz only took 11 3's....coincidence....
You played Gollum in the movie, didn't you? I'd say typecasting.
75...but you were correct...if they would have shot like 25 the game wouldn't have been close......
They had a good game on both stats. The 3pt % (46%) tonight was the equivalent of 66% FG percentages; still a close game, and Wright's last 3 ptr was a key. Now, go to bed.

Finally have some time to post here. What a terrific game and great W by the GRIZ. Turnovers really hurt the GRIZ badly, which kept EWU within striking distance all game. As much as I love 3 pt shots, it was nice to see the GRIZ focus less on the 3 and come back to the basics.

Breunig, Wright, and Oguine all played terrific. Krslovic seems to be on his way back to being a consistent player, which is really needed. Dunn is beginning to look more comfortable on the floor. He was more of his aggressive self, and his court awareness is beginning to come back. Each team did a terrific job in limiting open 3 point shots. The referees had a terrible 5 minute stretch in the 2nd half, from around the 10 minute to the 5 minute mark. Fortunately, the GRIZ withstood it and were able to be in position to benefit from calls in the last few minutes. Travis was on 1 referee the whole game, and in the end it paid off. I am glad I was able to have work off to make this game. This team sure makes the game enjoyable with how they play.

Unfortunately, some fans who are there to sit in complete silence all the time, and expect other fans to cater to them takes away from the true game environment. I pay top $$ to sit in lower section near the floor, where I can experience the game at it's best. I am as passionate for GRIZ basketball as anyone. I feel it is important for fans to encourage and support the team. For some, that includes standing, applauding, and doing their best to get others around them to do the same. Even more so when your head coach (Travis) is motioning and expecting fans to bring it when he gestures the fans to stand and make some noise. I don't care how much anyone pays for a ticket, or your status with the program, that ticket or status gives you no right to bitch at fans who are giving it all in a respectful way.

Yes, I know there are times when someone is handicapped, etc which limits their ability to see the game or participate more in the game. However, before and during every game (football and basketball) I pay attention to the fans as they enter a game. That way I know who to keep in mind during a game, or if it might be necessary to offer to swap seats with someone. It is not my or any other fan's responsibility to stay sat and quiet during games because you or your group choose to never stand and be quiet. I know damn well you are physically capable of standing as well. I see how quickly you moved to and from your seats before, after, and during the game. The ones bitching at me and others for standing, saw how quickly your asses departed after the game. I really would like to know the role security has at these games? If someone bitches to them about fans standing, do the standing fans have to stay sat, or is it their right to continue standing, when needed?

I honestly feel every fan at every event has the personal choice to stand or sit, to be loud or be silent. However, just because some choose to sit and be silent, it should not be expectation for other fans to remain sat and be silent. I am not 1 bit sorry for telling the complaining lady I paid the same ticket price as they did, I had the right to stand and cheer, the same as all the other fans around them were doing as well. I don't regret telling her to try joining in. Honestly to God, if you are at an event to sit all game, please don't bitch continually about those standing. Hell, if you don't like standing fans, find other seats, or don't show up. If you are a donor or GSA member, I thank you an appreciate you are, but it still does not give you the right to expect fans to cater to your refusal to stand and add to the environment of the game. To take it further, when someone is taking your request into consideration and actually sitting to please you, don't have the audacity to then ask fan to stay sat back in the seat when they are leaning forward in it!!!

Sorry, but after dealing with this kind of crap at football games for how many years, I've had it with fans who expect everyone to stay sat down and be quiet at GRIZ athletic events, when those fans are physically capable of standing. Honestly, does anyone know how the university feels about fan participation, sitting, standing, etc? I ask because, I want to know. Do the uppity ups actually get catered to when it comes to this? By the way, IF and WHEN the day comes when I don't want to stand or not able to, I will find other seats to better accommodate that, or not attend games at all. Hell, I might just watch the games online in a library, after all that is the environment some expect at these games.

It was amazing how the Griz could go from their worst FG % of the season to their best FG% in just two days. It didn't seem to me like the zone defense Thursday night forced many bad shots. They were just bad shots. At home. But to then turn around like that, it was remarkable but kind of unsettling to a degree. There is a certain randomness to team performances that is both characteristic and difficult to explain, Breunig excepted.

Too, such good shooting was definitely great to see, but it barely won the game. Had Griz played their season average, they would have lost. At Home.

Not really an answer but kind of a funny memory. A couple of years back we had the Weber AD sitting behind us in the championship game and his wife was constantly complaining that she had to stand to see. At one point the usher came and said "I have to ask if you'll sit down so she can see." We obviously weren't interested in sitting quietly while our team won on ESPN and said no way. My dad started to get a little defensive at that point. She laughed and said, "I don't think you understood me. I said I have to ASK. Enjoy the game and make some noise!" From that point on I just had her stand behind me and complain. The only other person we really had an issue with at that game was another Weber "upper" who grabbed my shoulder and tried to push me down. That didn't work so well either.

For the GRIZ fans who like to stand and be loud at games, don't ever buy a ticket in section 103, Row 3, with seat #'s less than 10. Absolutely the bitchiest upper class snobs I've ever encountered at a GRIZ game. Seriously, the people bitching were plenty healthy and able to stand. It did not matter that most everyone else not in their sight line was also standing. I should sit there more often and literally stand the whole game next time, just to piss them off more.

Nice!!

I don't see the point of sitting for Griz games. If I had my way, they'd take out the seats. Who in the hell wants to "sit" at a game?

Nice win for the Griz yesterday, knew that was going to be a tough game.

You guys have a nice team, will be a tough out this year....

congrats on the victory, just wish there was a return game this year...

You are right, there should be a Montana @ EWU but unfortunately there isn't. To be honest I think it would be a real tough game to pull off a win in Cheney. Though if we want to be a truly good team we need to be able to beat you guys at home and on the road so it too bad the opportunity isn't there for both teams sake. Well good luck the rest of the year to your team and we'll see you in the Conference Tourney.

Thanks Marc. And yes, as always, the BSC sucks. We don't go to Eastern, Weber doesn't come to Montana, and Eastern doesn't go to Weber. Way to go Foolerton!!!!

I strongly believe a 12-team Big Sky hoops alignment is destructive to the Big Sky. Single games against Weber State, Idaho State, Idaho and Eastern Washington are robbing players and fans of the home&home series that would most accurately define the battle for the Big Sky this year. That plus the virtual elimination of the significance of earning a regular season (league games) title is harmful to the whole nature of season-long competition for dominance.

It distinguishes conference basketball as a sport that the teams get two bites at the apple, one home and one away. It's a key part of the excitement. It's part of the sport.

This conference is no longer manageable. In football, we never played SUU. That just seemed weird to not play a top-notch team that's in the conference, and with their record, a natural Big Game event.
