Did those that watched on eversport have video? We were travelling and I had the game audio going so I could listen but I notice that I wasn't getting any video. Hoping for a replay of this one.

My video was freezing during the 1st half. 2nd half was pretty good video.
Very good production and very good announcers. I don't know why UM has such a problem getting both when games are in Missoula....Even the ad for UND was good...nice looking school.

We had video from start to finish without any issues.

Somewhat related, does anyone know why the eversport replays jump back several minutes from time to time throughout the whole game? I love re-watching the games, but that just drives me crazy.

Maybe UM fans could present the ND coach with some scented bath salts, chocolates, and pretty flowers when he comes to Missoula in order to sooth his hurt feelings....
It might be time for THE POTATOES.

I was told by a Big Sky Conference official that EverSport is aware of the problem and is working on it. No specifics.

Video from UM has been fantastic this year, and synced with Mick's PBP. Not certain what you've been watching. This was a nice production from UND because the game was broadcast on Fox College and they picked up that feed.

Another nice road win. Not many teams will sweep that trip.

And nodak's coach is a little pussy. That was some weak shit, and if Foolerton had some balls (or a f***[*] clue!) he'd begin fining coaches for that kind of lack of sportsmanship.

 This. I was only able to see the 10 pm news story on the game and they showed the "highlight" of the brush off. What a classless douchebag this UND coach is. I only hope today's student section can rise to the occasion when UND is in Missoula. They should have some flowers delivered courtside to this crybaby ala the pizza sent to old Weber coach Neil McCarthy back in the day. This guy really just bought some some extra grief down on his head for his visit to the Zoo. Circle the date.

That was pretty damn low-class of him. From what I've read on the UND boards that's not uncommon for him though. Apparently he does stuff like that quite often.

As one UND fan said:

"As a coach you are supposed to be a leader and a role model. You can see his actions rubbing off on his players as some went through the handshake line and wouldn't even make eye contact with Montana's coach, didn't give him a head nod. Nothing.

Jones' actions at the end of the game were inappropriate and childish. Yes, his team just lost a close game. Yes, the non-call on the goaltending play is frustrating, but that one play isn't the only thing that went wrong. Suck it up, be a man, and be a good sport. I don't think the Montana coach wanted to stop and have tea and crumpets, but after a tough battle like that a mere pause to acknowledge a good game is appropriate. "

Another followed with:

"U guys have probably had this discussion before, I'm not even surprised when jones does stuff like this. "

Another replied with:

"His actions were not justified. His actions were an embarrassment. "

There were some defending him of course but it seemed the majority are not pleased with what he did.

Also found it interesting that DeCuire said they knew there would be some weird adversity (I can't remember the exact words) on this visit. Makes me think the bullshit like the "volley ball practice" keeping the Griz from getting some court time for practice happened last year too.

I don't think anybody antagonized the UM student section like Neil McCarthy. And vice versa. He made himself a target and the students just loved it. The pizza was just pure genius ... nearly as good as the box of freeze dried potatoes that somebody threw on the floor when the ref threatened a foul on the student section if they rolled one more potato across the floor ....

I was a bit surprised by the number of Hawk fans who were calling out BJ for his actions. But as many noted, it's not exactly unusual behavior for him. Look, I understand that TDC is a fiery personality and may not make a lot of great friends with other bsc coaches. But he's always been respectful to them, their staffs and programs.

Fun game to go to. Congrats on the win. On Jones, I did not see what happened but from what I've read that is classless. He does not carry himself with the best body language and is quite the whiner. Wish we had a coach that carried himself better to rub off on these young men.

On the game, that was fun and Bruening is a beast down there. I thought Avants did an admirable job defending him in the first but he just proved to be too much. What were your guys thoughts on him hitting the rim the two times? The first time it obviously didn't matter because Bernstine made the shot but the second time Crandall got fouled and it probably should have been an and one. Oh well I guess it's over with now. Good luck the rest of the way besides when we meet again!

Thanks for the classy remarks. I missed the first Breunig play on the bucket, but on the second one it looked as though it should have been called interference and one foul shot.

Good luck the rest of the way, except of course in Missoula...

S24/7, thanks for the post. Please visit the board more often.

ND was impressive yesterday, and Avants was fantastic. There are not many visitors that are gonna get out of the Betty with a win.

And yes, the grab of the rim by MB certainly should have been basket interference. I have no idea why Foolerton and the bsc's ADs continue to put up with such consistently poor officiating. But I guess it is what it is and isn't going to change.

My judgement -- while watching Breunig grab the rim -- was that the play was an obvious interference infraction. The rule, however, is left to an official's interpretation about the following: "when a player touches the basket, the rim, or the ball when it is on the rim or directly above it." If it is ruled (rim) interference, the shot is ruled as made (2-3 pts), and not a one-shot free throw.

I believe the officials reviewed the play and determined that the ball was not above the rim when Breunig grabbed it. However, as noted by others, that rim had some vibration as Breunig released his grip!

I still think it could easily have been ruled a 2-pt interference violation.

their coach is the epitome of their school. think they are something, whine whine , but they are nothing.

good win Montana, its about time you guys start running away with this big sky title. I still have you as the favorites.

I like the tweets by kyle sample from montana telling it how it is, they didn't get a court to practice on because they were lied to. wow.

"How you treat the opponent," other coaches, players, fans, ... there are some "standards" out there. This is probably the best thing ever written by Peter Christian here in Missoula, and it is a story that I still tell my own students.
They arrived in Missoula feeling forgotten. They were a small band of staff and players that had been both hardened and worn out by the fall’s events. They arrived with an us-against-the-world mentality, and in Missoula they received something they were least expecting. They found a sense of family.

The history books will remember the 26th Lady Griz Holiday Classic as being Montana’s 23rd tournament championship. There was a semifinal victory over New Orleans and a championship game win over UNC Asheville. North Dakota State was also in the field.

Montana sophomore Dana Conway earned MVP honors. Freshman Mandy Morales was named to the all-tournament team. New Orleans went 0-2 at the tournament to drop to 1-11 for the season.

But history books are limited. They can’t record emotions, and their narrow focus on the black and white misses the beautiful memories that reside in the gray areas in between.
Read the whole thing. This is "class." This is how its done.

Their program had been blown apart by Hurricane Katrina. Their university was gone.
–Reflecting back on that time in my life, my student-athletes’ lives and my staff’s lives brings back some very moving moments, and being a participant in the tournament that year will be a memory we will never forget.
To this day I will never forget the warm welcome from you and your staff the moment we arrived on campus.
The day the tournament began, you pulled me aside at our shoot-around and said, “Tonight we are placing collection buckets at each entrance to our facility for our fans to donate money to your program.”

I fought hard to hold back the tears, knowing you were averaging over 4,000 fans per game. All I could do was hug you and thank you for this wonderful gesture and gift.

When the first game began, I watched in amazement as the fans piled in. Then halftime came and the announcement was made for our team to come to half court. The public address announcer told our story of loss and grief, of our challenges and struggles. I glanced around at my staff and players, and there was not a dry face among them, including my own.

When the announcer finished, your fans rose to their feet, and their support through their applause for our university, our department, our kids and our city was amazing.

That was the loudest applause any of us had ever heard, and to this day I still hear it. I will never forget it. What an incredible experience for us at that time in our lives.

I still get emotional retelling the story, and when you ask the players from that team today about their experience at the University of Montana, they too shed tears. It was a true display of love and support for us just being there and having survived.

We traveled that entire year, but for some reason that trip brought us closer together. And it was because of the support that Missoula showed for us. It will forever be in our minds and hearts. Go Griz!!!

The 2nd one I thought should have been basket interference. Was kind of surprised the refs didn't call it.

I was very impressed with Avants out there. Also you guys got some other very talented young players it looks like with Bernstine and Crandall. Should be a lot of fun to watch the battles between Oguine and Crandall for these next several years.

Got home last night to watch the game, discovered that it was at 1 in the afternoon. Who in the hell schedules a BB game at 1 in the afternoon?

Finally got got a chance to see it on the Eversport archive today. That is a great website for those of us with short memory syndrome since it constantly repeats everything. Made for a long, long game, that's for sure.

Great game. The game play announcers really were impressed by the Griz and weren't shy about saying it. "Montana just showed why they are where they are at."

Their last comments: "This is a well-coached Montana team."
