I find it very interesting that Stitt wanted him to walk on, and within the month, Hauck gives him some money. The kid earned a scholarship, and it just proves Stitt lacked an ability scout quality players. Congrats Levi! Well deserved.

Fullback isn't exactly a great system fit for Stitt and it's a homerun for Hauck. Lots of kids don't fit systems perfectly and therefore don't get the offer or level of offer that meets their abilities from a given school.

Levi wasn't just a fullback though. Can develop as a power running back or linebacker.

Exactly. I realize Stitts system didn’t match Levi’s position he is listed as now, but he’s a pure athlete. One who deserves some kind of money. He’s a kid you can easily plug into a number of positions.

I like to call those...football players. That's what BH is good with, turning kids into football players!

agree for sure ....if he had more speed he could have had 6 or 7 touchdowns in the billings west game alone.....put on about 35 and say hello to a middle linebacker. .... the only thing he lacks is speed at the running back position imo.

We were stacked in '95. Jeremy Watkins, Justin Daniel(the two players I was a back up for), John Batt, Shane Block, Andy Petritz, Kirk Gonzalez, Taylor Barrow, Chris Novak, and Erik Zeveta plus Coach Ek.

Fall of '94, right? We (Flathead) played you tough down in Missoula but the difference was a Watkins KO return. We also had a TD called back I believe. Final was 13-6 Big Sky if I remember correctly.

Yup. You sir have an amazing memory or I have abused mine too much over the years. The only game I truly remember was our state championship game against Hellgate where it was about 15 degrees. I know our D was real stout though and won most of our games for us. Our offense was a great team O also with a very balanced attack.

Not surprised that Hauck was willing to give some $ for a Montana kid. I'm sure he believes that the best MT kids can compete with any FCS players in the country. With proper coaching, of course.

Yeah...we lost to Hellgate too earlier in the year. Were riding high 3-0 after upsetting Capital but then Dennehy and the Knights got us on a hot 4PM kickoff in Missoula. Had some good players on that team including Jason Petrino(Carroll), Leif Thorson(Griz), Walker Templeton(Oregon), and the McLean brothers but we went 7-3 and 5th when only 4 teams made the playoffs.

Good for him. Not a lot of Montana kids get scholarship offers to play fullback.

Why didn't Choate offer him anything? He must not have an eye for talent either!
