I am thinking it might be best to issue 37 to a SR or JR this coming season. I'd love to see Robby get 37 for 2 years. I'd be surprised if he earns it immediately.

Yes. With all due respect to Robby, I'm pretty certain 37 is something that is earned while playing for the University of Montana Grizzlies. Not based on the accomplishments of your uncle or dad. I'm sure he is well aware of that.

Plus, #37 can only go to a Montana kid. Robby never played football in Montana. Any questions?

My prediction for #37 for the next few years:

2018-2019: Jesse Sims (his junior and senior seasons)
2020: Jace Lewis (his senior season)
2021: Marcus Welnel or Braydon Deming (would be their senior season)
2022: Garrett Graves (would be his senior season...and he's going to play defense :thumb: )

There you go. I have it all figured out for you guys.

I think Sims is likely but wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Sandry but the D-Line guys have kind of kept that number to themselves.

I think you are right on with that. I expect Lewis to impress a lot of people this next year.

Will be hard to keep Jace off the field. And just to note, Robby Hauck might not be the most athletic compared to the other safeties on the roster but the kid plays exactly like past Griz greats at safety. A lot of toughness and a lot of passion.

no one has mentioned him nor should he have been, yet,,,a kid by the name of le texier (sp) may be huge for the griz the next 3-4 years, at least at the spring game, before he was hurt, several people said he was an playing BIGLY, maybe more BIGLY than anyone else from montana, just something to keep in mind as time marches on .....

Walk on or scholarship?

He was a scholarship player for NAU. Don't know how it will go as a Griz.

A lot of debate on wether he will have to sit a year. Yes the transfer rule, but there have been other cases where a son moves to a place his dad coaches and were given a waiver.

I believe UM only offered a PWO to him (c'mon Stitt).

Totally unrelated, but I was watching a classic movie today. On his prison clothing, Cool Hand Luke is #37!
