New OL transfer Dylan Jemtegaard Center from CAL

Didn't play in a game last fall. Played a bit in 2023. Is in Mechanical Engineering. I wonder if he is graduating this spring. Looks like a cool and smart kid, and big.

"In April 2022, Jemtegaard’s father, Shawn, was shot and killed in Hawks Prairie [I saw an article saying it was Road Rage]. The former youth football coach was honored in a celebration of life event at Yelm High School on Sunday, May 21, 2023. H

“My father was not only a pillar of guidance and strength but also an inspiration to those who got to interact with him regularly,” Jemtegaard wrote in the magazine. “Navigating the grief of such inexplicable loss while balancing the physical-mental toll of football and a rigorous mechanical engineering program was and has been overwhelming at times.”

Jemtegaard said the experience of losing his father gave him resilience and purpose, adding he believes “you can learn a lot about yourself in the way you choose to respond to adversity and how long you allow yourself to lie on the floor when knocked down.”

Possibly a good get.He is going for his masters.Hopefully he looks at it as not just another free ride for him and he comes to earn it.

That's a lot to go through at such a young age. If he can make it through losing his father while studying Mech. Eng. and playing football at Cal, he can do almost anything. Great addition to the O-line room. Welcome to the Griz Dylan!
