New JC center for griz

So citay was right about not recruiting him out of CA. The Newport thing threw me off--there's a Newport Beach near Lakewood/Long Beach (near Irvine in Orange County, if anyone is interested or wants to review their CA geography!).

so everybody's predicting big things for jake wiley. some say he might step right in an contribute his freshman year.

so, ah, how come he's not mentioned anywhere, any classification, even honorable mention, on the washington high school all-state team for 2012? are e-grizzers seeing something that eluded whoever votes for the all-state team in washington? will cherry and kareem jamar were high-scorers in championship games of the state of california's highest classification, leading their respective teams to state titles. cherry was first-team all bay area his junior and senior years, in one of the best recruiting markets in the entire country. and you're saying wiley doesn't need a redshirt year?

Maybe the questions that you should be asking is...What do college coaches know that the voters of CA don't? Cherry and Jamar had all the accolades on state championship teams in a big basketball state and yet they end up playing at the same small program as some no-name kid from Newport,WA. How does that happen if high school awards are a direct coralation to college success? jes askin.

Martin will redshirt, and Wiley more than likely will as well. If either of the 2 play right away, Wiley seems more ready.

well, cherry had a minor flaw--he couldn't shoot. he's overcome that weakness. jarmar was a late bloomer who could have signed with any number of bigger programs after his performance in the state championship game, but he'd committed to montana because of our family atmosphere, and he stuck with his committment. two great kids.

jake wily was rated as the 20th best player in the state of washington by the same outfit that rated kevin henderson as the ninth best player a year earlier. no question he has potential, i just hope backer is right, and we can redshirt him.

You should know by now that all Griz signees are great players that the big programs missed on.
