Never Played the Game

Safe to say I never played the game so my observations should be taken with a grain of salt. I am passionate for the Griz and have been since my college days in Missoula in the mid sixties to the present. I was witness to the beat down in Cheney yesterday and aside from the first quarter it was a beat down regardless of what the stats say.
\Question for the more intelligent football gurus on this board of which there may be 3 to 5. It does appear to me that Brady has as much as or more horizontal passing yardage as vertical. Which was successful against the bottom feeding defenses in this league but not so much against dare I say the likes of NAU and EWU. But we continue to go to that option when we need downfield yardage not horizontal yardage.
I think JLM has the potential to be a great receiver for us but I fear he will spend more time on the injury list because is so exposed on the outside. Again from "never having played the game" I think JLM value would be better utilized catching the ball 3 to 5 yds. off the line and then doing his thing.
One more comment then I will await the football gurus feedback. I think Jon Nguyen is the most unappreciated player on the Griz. At 5'6" and 175 lbs. dripping wet he puts out more effort per lbs. than anyone on our team. And if you would have watched him in the EWU game he was continuously open in the middle of the field while BG was trying to make something out of nothing.

I totally agree with your comment about John Nguyen being the most underappreciated guy on the team. He's shown up for every game for four years, never been hurt, gives 100%+ each game. What more can you ask??
