Another example of the NCAA doing things its own way: http://www.fcs.football/cfb/story.asp?i=20160712120903356850304&ref=hea&tm=&src=FCS

... Coastal Carolina is going above the FCS scholarship limit of 63 as part of its transition to the FBS' maximum of 85. That gives voters more reason to discount the Chants than just negativity over a program leaving the FCS behind.

But the NCAA recognizes Coastal as an FCS member this season and 12 FCS schools didn't have a problem with scheduling the Chanticleers.

It will be interesting to see how voters perceive them this season.
Sorry NCAA, if they get to sign up more scholarship players ... then that's not a "level playing field" against an FCS opponent. If I'm a pollster -- I'm not -- I would not include them on my list at all.

Are you telling us how to think or are you just providing information here?

Edit: Sorry, wrong thread.

Why would we include them in the polls????? They aren't playoff eligable correct??? Why include them in polls that have some merit on whom plays in the post season and who doesnt?

Its amazing to me how easy it is for these southern schools to just jump to FBS. Nobody hear had heard of Coastal five years ago!

Every school that moves up does this, I believe...they aren't eligible for playoffs though
