Whenever there is a streak or wins in a row the odds of it coming to an end go up each time you play. Correct me if i am wrong but ndsu was first allowed to compete for the playoffs in 2010. If that is correct they have one quarterfinal appearance and four national championships in a row since first being allowed to compete for an fcs title. Now that is a streak. Were' they not ranked in the top 25 during their transition period to fcs? Their defense finally is not very good and an offense not built to come from behind. This is the year to stop a streak.

Not correct, they became eligible for the playoffs in 2008, but they went 6-5 that year and missed the playoffs that year. In 2009 they were 3-8. 2010 was the first year they made the playoffs. Still impressive though.

NDSU was first eligible for the playoffs in 2008, but didn't make the playoffs until 2010. Since then, NDSU is 18-1 in the playoffs (winning their last 16), with 13 of those games at home, 2 away games, and 4 neutral sites. I don't remember what they were ranked in 2006-2007, but their record was 10-1 both years, (losses to Minnesota one year and SDSU the next).

Regarding the original post, I do have to admit that statistic is misleading, but it is still pretty cool.

NDSU was ranked #1 in 2006 and 2007 and wouldve ROLLED thru the fcs playoffs.

3 NFL 8 year veterans were on those teams Giants S Craig Dahl, SD LB Joe Mays & NO LB Ramon Humber. (plus 7 others who played in the NFL in preseason or regular season) those teams beat Big 10 teams.
