It is just ignorant to think NDSU has any shot at the B1G  . It's more likely that the B1G drops Minnesota and I know that will never happen. Lol at O$U in the same conference as NDSU. They're arrogance enough as is
Is it really that ridiculous to think that NDSU could compete with some of the schools in the B1G? According to Jeff Sagarin, who has been providing ratings for USA Today since 1985, NDSU was the 37th best D1 football team last year. According to his ratings, that would've made NDSU better than Indiana, Minnesota, Purdue, Northwestern, Illinois, Ohio State, and Iowa last year. Granted, that was one year where NDSU had a great year and some of those other schools had down years, but that is also with 22 less scholarships (correct me if I'm wrong on that number). I'm not saying that I agree that we were better than all of those teams last year, but I think it's at least an indication that it's not completely ridiculous to think that we could compete with some of them.

However, even if NDSU could compete with some of those schools, I would prefer to stay in the FCS. I love the playoff system, and I would much rather have a shot at winning a national championship than having a chance at competing in the Hooters Toilet Bowl. Also, I think we should stick around the FCS at least long enough to make a name for ourselves like Montana and many other schols have already done, and until there is a playoff system in the FBS.
Your football program is damn impressive! But the B1G is much, much more than just football. I mean hell your academics are on par with MSU. NDSU just isn't B1G material. Maybe in 30 years, who knows..

Yep. Every member of the B1G is an AAU member except Nebraska who was recently booted (after joining the conference). Their medical school is in Omaha, not Lincoln, and too much of their research grant money is from the government for their agriculture department. Those two factors were a big part them being considered not prestigious enough.

That's the kind of stuff that decides these things, not being able to compete with the bottom teams in the conference on the field.
