NDSU 2016 Future

The bad news for them is Wentz has a high ankle sprain is questionable for their next game. The good news for them is they don't play until the 12th against Weber St. at home. They play ND the next week at home and then have another week off. All of their pretty tough games are at home this year and they don't play Illinois State. I can't imagine them not making the playoffs this year. Let's win out so they have to come here for the playoff.

If any of you remember Dave Dickinson's high ankle sprain it took
a long time for him to be at 100%, the 12th is no given, a normal
ankle sprain heals a lot faster.

I think the Bizon will absolutely win out and be the No. 2 seed in the playoffs, AT WORST
:thumb: I don't know about winning out but top 4 seed for sure.

I am sorry for any player who gets hurt, but I had to laugh when my son said, "He probably wouldn't have been hurt if he hadn't tried to do what the qb did in Remember the Titans." He was so right. I don't know why Wentz would try that. Hope he heals up soon.

The only team I see capable of beating them is Northern Iowa. If the Bison play them at home, they will win out and not lose again.

I think the MV will be a bit of a log jam at the top this year. Just because UNI was the last team to beat them aside from us doesn't mean another MV team isn't capable. Their secondary is going to get a workout every week after this game.

They will not lose to a conference team. Mark it down. Their secondary is very young, but will improve as the season progresses. they also get their All-conference CB back soon, probably next game.

Mark it down cause I actually agree with Steve. Well, actually he agreed with me first. Wentz will be just fine. Their defense will be just fine. NDSU will run the table in the MVC. If they played Illinois State, I would be a little more nervous about that statement, but they don't play them in the MVC's unbalanced sched. NDSU will also blast Weber and UND at home. They will be 10-1 at the end of the regular season. PERIOD.

I'm curious to see what Youngstown does this year under Pelini. That's a game they could lose but I don't see them losing more than one. UNI is a win because it's at home and UNI lost so much that really wasn't replaced well.

Coming from the same guy who was predicting a blowout in favor of the Bison on Saturday....I don't think I'll mark that down, with all due respect. I think they are on their way down, teams rise and fall....just my :twocents:

And not every MV conference team is "ground and pound" -- they do have some good throwers and catchers. And their opener is at SDSU ... which NDSU won at home by only at FG. That could be tough, especially if Wentz is still not 100%. Still, except for that, their toughest games look like they'll be at home. As many have said, they're most likely to be back in the playoff.

We'll try to remember your certainty, later. I do think they will be in the playoffs, but I'm not so sure they can "run the table in the MVC." Maybe they will, but the conference is much too strong for that to be a given.

They are not on their way down. Give me a break. They have the best QB in FCS, who played hurt most of the second half Saturday. They have a better O-line that 75% of the FCS teams, with 2-3 O-linemen who will be drafted by the NFL next draft. They have some concerns on defense, but it was obvious that their defensive players were talented. They just made some mistakes due to inexperience. They will improve as the year goes on. As a group NDSU hit as hard as any team I can remember coming in here!

Even though I disagreed with you above about them "running the table" in conference (although they might 8-) ), I agree that it's silly to say they are "on their way down" because they lost one f-in' game ... by a f-in' FG.

Now, one never knows ... but they obviously still have a Hell of a lot of talent on their roster. For all we know, a guy as good, or better, than Wentz may step up while he is recovering. (I have no idea who that might be, but that's what happens, sometimes, with strong programs).
