The NCAA is sure acting like they want to get back to something approaching normal:

Some very interesting ideas seem to be on the table.
Here's a key quote from the article:
Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly said the extra time on the field with a ball will be valuable for teaching schemes, but not necessarily for assessing player development.

"... all the install that you didn't get in in the spring is really going to take place during that period of time," Kelly said Tuesday. "They won't be an opportunity to see skills on display."
In other words, they'll still be learning how to work together as a team on the playbook. Not much time left for honing individual skills.

We can expect to see some pretty rough edges during the early season games.

With you all the way! :thumb:

Even in previous "normal" years, we saw a lot of rough edges at the start of a season. Plus, stars emerged that we (and the coaches) had not spotted during practice. Of course, there have been, and always will be, guys who don't look great in practice, but blossom when the game is on for real. (Of course, the reverse is also true. ;) )

"Tulane team physician Greg Stewart, who is heading the American Athletic Conference's COVID-19 advisory panel, said the hope is testing and screening of the players for the coronavirus will go well enough that players won't need to use face coverings during practice.

"But the coaches and staffs would all wear N-95 masks," Stewart said, referring to the highly protective masks often used by healthcare workers."

1. "Wisconsin Badgers Have An 85% Renewal Rate For Football Tickets During The Coronavirus Pandemic

A ton of people still want tickets to Wisconsin Badgers football games during the coronavirus pandemic. The renewal rate is 85%."

"While the yearly renewal rate has been 93% or better for the past two decades, it’s worth noting that 85% during the pandemic is pretty incredible."

2. "
These are the schools reporting coronavirus cases within their athletic programs
The list of athletics programs in universities across the US reporting coronavirus cases is growing."

[This lists all of the schools with cases. Only a few more than already reported on egriz.]

A restart plan has been finalized and is expected to be approved today. Fairly long article, but with some actual dates, so worth checking out: https://www.espn.com/college-footba...ge-football-plan-return-coronavirus-need-know

One key quote:

...
For teams that begin the season on Labor Day weekend, required workouts would begin July 13, followed by an enhanced training schedule that begins July 24, and a normal, four-week preseason camp starting Aug. 7.

Schools that open the season on Aug. 29 would begin required workouts July 6.
...
Assuming the current Giz schedule holds up, UM would go by the Labor Day protocol.
