NAU's Mitch Strohman is the best!

Was reminded again tonight during the Lady Griz game that NAU's Mitch Strohman is one of the best PBP announcers at any level of college sports. Great voice, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and a sense of humor. And he does a solid job of not being a "homer."

He's great.

It's fun to watch him when NAU comes to Portland. Our season tickets are pretty much right behind the visiting team's radio guy and Strohman's body movement as he calls the game is fantastic. You can tell that he's giving 110% trying to describe what he's seeing to his listeners.

Mitch is both fun and knowledgable as an announcer.

I'm never sure on people's definition of the term "homer". Mitch is able to give the oppostion credit for playing well. He questions calls made by the refs but also give them their credit when it is due as well. In my opinion, that makes him the opposite of a "homer". But he is loud, passionate and occasionally endearingly (in my mind) goofy in his delivery. For some that makes him a "homer".

It's obvious that he enjoys plying his trade and enjoys NAU/Flagstaff. It's just too bad he doesn't have more of an audience for tv or radio. Major bummer that as of this season there was no more radio coverage in the Phoenix metro area for NAU basketball games. :(

Yep - One of the best entertaining radio and tv announcers around! When the game gets dull he even spices it up with questions via e-mails! Love to listen to him, as well as Mick, the 2 best in the Big Sky!
