NAU does need an arena. Maybe the attendance at the last two games will light a fire under some people and get the fund-raising going for it.

Something along the lines of Grand Canyon University's arena....pretty schnazzy for a school that's just moved up to D1. NAU fans just need to convince Colangelo to switch allegiances.

There was talk a few years back of refitting (or would it be renovating) the fieldhouse on north campus into a basketball arena. It never came to fruition, though.

When there are 3-5 thousand on hand, the Skydome is okay. It's just too spacious to ever feel like a basketball arena should. I caught a basketball game @ Santa Clara University a few years back and was impressed with their facility. Same with U of San Diego's gym. With the way education funding is in this state....it's merely a pipe dream until some booster with deep pockets emerges.
