NAU Game

I have heard to rumors to the effect that some of our players were sick during the NAU game. Seems like this just may be some fans making excuses for our poor performance. I am curious if anyone else has heard this.

Even if I heard this and it was the case, the team would not use it as an excuse. I hope no fans use it either. I doubt the whole offensive line was sick at the time, even though their play was sick that game.

Nobody was sick. After Opsu we were in coast mode and didn't pay attention to the team waiting for us. Nau was Playing outstanding, we had players playing 75% thinking we had it easy and we got our butts whooped. All the lineman ran until they got sick on Monday (players have said this) the d got lit up in film review and multiple seniors addressed the team. I would say they just got whipped and paid for it for the next 3 days.

I actually heard this too. But its not really an excuse. But at the same time I'm sure we all know what its like to go to work sick. Whether or not this is true or not remains a mystery to me.
I'm sure they were really sick after looking at the numbers afterwards lol. Hopefully this is true after what I seen. 1520+ lbs of front line caving in...

What is wrong with just losing, because the other team beat you? One year I lost a Montana state Championship and a Northwest Regional Freestyle Championship, my only loses that year. I didn't have a bad match in either match, I just got out wrestled.

You lose because of players and game plans. The opposing team makes you look bad at times. You lost to a better team on that day, nothing more or less.

Excuses are just ways to trying ways to make yourself feel better.

Learn from your losses, grow and play the next game.

It now seems obvious (and in fact was stated by several linemen) that we were not ready to play at Flagstaff; and that, to me, is not a player issue as much as a coaching issue.

However, a lot of good teams need a "wake up" game, and go on to have a good season and a deep playoff run. Let's hope that's our story at the end of the season.

Good post. I don't know why we have to come up excuses as to why we got beat. We got outplayed and its as simple as that. Give credit when credit is due. NAU beat us. Pure and simple.

And I'd rather have that wakeup game in week 4 than in week 14.
