Or we could host it at Arco until our new arena is finished, even then with 8K seats, it would be a perfect size. But I agree, I hate this format, and the fact only 6 teams go. It sucks not meeting all the fans of the conference at the end of the year and exchanging stories, et al.

Fullerton continues with his myopic (idiotic) view of the Big Sky. He is such a sham!

Then when the 7th or 8th place team wins the tourney and they get a #16 seed or play-in game our conference looks like a joke. We need to continue to give the best team the best chance to advance into the NCAA's. The best system is in place.

Actually the best system would be to reduce it back down to 4 teams like it used to be.

If I remember right, when the Big Sky had it at a predetermined site in Boise, Boise State was automatically in the tournament whether they qualified or not. It was a joke.

This system would have kept us out of the NCAA tourney the last two times if it had been in place...

The sytem we have now is what the coaches prefer over ALL the other ones that have been used. Why do people want to make changes just to make changes????????????????????

Doesn't mean it's better.

Griz were 3rd seed last year so wouldn't have kept Griz out. But, the fifth or sixth seeds of last year if they would have won the tournament would have been blown out by Washington and made Big Sky look bad. But, just so happened that the 3rd seeded team won and made it a respectable game against Washington.

In 2002, Griz would have not made the NCAA tournament being a 5th seed, but were the Griz the best team to go into the tournament that year as the Big Sky Representative? Got blown out by Oregon by more than 20 points. As 3rd seed last year, Griz were. As 2nd seed this year, They are. But, as 5th seed in 2002, I don't think so.

I know you feel you know more than the coaches, but I think I will go with them on this one. :thumb:

This doesn't take a coaches knowledge to know there are to many teams in a tournament.

Give it up! You are so in the minority it is laughable. Too many teams? Give me a freaking break. Until this league gets to a level of being a 1 bid conference it is what it is. Funny not one coach complains about it. Do you just bitch to bitch? :werd:

Look who's bitching.

I could care less what the coaches think. It is my opinion. I could also care less what the majority thinks, doesn't mean it's better. So, you really think it is the coaches that were in favor of this? More like the AD's and commissioner who wants the additional money. Money money money. So, of course, all the coaches are all going to be in favor of it. But, then, we might as well have all the teams in the tournament.

Besides, the League is already up to a level of being a 1 bid conference. But, I guess you think it must be a 0 bid conference.

I know for a FACT the coaches favor it. You seem to be the ONLY one who doesn't have a clue. Of course you have a right to your opinion, just as you have a right to be an idiot.

TrueGriz that was how I remembered the Boise thing as well, they were guaranteed a slot to make sure the tournament was well attended, and it turned into a disaster for the conference.

I wouldn't mind seeing it go back to 4 teams, but I am equally o.k. with it at 6 teams. I did think I heard Krysko say he wasn't happy with the long lay off before the semi-finals. This has been something they just changed 2 or 3 years ago, so maybe they are still tinkering with it - not sure what is bet, though, it's also tough for the 1st round winner to come right back and play in a semi-game.

I wonder if the addition of No Colorado and additional conference games will tighten the tournament schedule next year?

Grizbacker1 said:
Krysko is far more upset with that bracket buster deal that forced us to play 3 games in 5 days
He might feel better about it now since Oral Roberts won their autobid

Last year was the year I was pissed about bracket buster - the griz had to play 3 in 5, and they weren't even in bracket buster, but NAU was, so they scheduled the Griz-NAU game in Flagstaff for the last Monday of the year.

hopefully bracket busters is taken into account next year and the conference schedule can be put together a little more fair so all teams only play 2 games the last weekend of the season.

true griz why dont we just not even have a conference tourney at let the one seed go! GB is right on this one
