national media bias

what's evident now in the national sports media is the same bias for weber in basketball that so often benefits us in football. c'mon, we've beaten weber the last two tournaments, and at this moment we hold home court advantage for both the conference crown and the playoffs, yet virtually all the pundits have weber going to the ncaa tournament. i guess you have to say, respect is earned, and weber over many years has earned it in basketball, just as we have in football.

Actually they have weber going because most the year they have had one more conf win than us....so basicaly they were in first place...and when doing the bracket predictions when it comes to the aito bid I think tjey jist put the team in first in that spot

Yeah unfotunately, while those "experts" spend days trying to determine if Notre Dame should be a 4 of a 5 seed, they have the assistant to their assistant fill in the 15 and 16 lines with whatever team is at the top of the low-mid-major conferences. There isn't a great deal of research going on to determine who beat whom and what games are left.

Becker is right. Plus they have already beaten the Griz, so far now it is a no brainer to project them as the Big Sky champ. That will all change Tuesday night.

Yes, Yes it will! and i am not worried about us getting a 15 seed either. this bs always happens where the so called experts stick our conf in that spot.....but much more will go into it and the selection committe will actually do some research and see how good we have been (and weber) in the last 3 months.

The only thing that matters is what happens on the court Tues. The media can go suck on fish heads.

I think Weber's having the top scorer in the country, plus the only Big Sky school to beat North Carolina might have something to do with it. Also, even though Ogden is a Mormon outpost, it is still part of a megalopolis of Salt Lake with major coverage. It will be interesting to see what the spread is on this game...By the way, did anyone else watch Cherry get up and rub his knee and Tinkle look worried as well? I hope it is nothing bad. He has got to put the smack down on Lillard on Tues and again in the champ game....

Just to point out but the Salt Lake media does not mention Weber very often. It has been a sore point for years.

nevertheless...it is in a large metro area...in the East, all they know is the airport that sits near ski centers..and had a Winter Olympics...Missoula? not far from the unibomber's cabin..Sorry, but that is the national media...We know differently...
