National letter of intent signing day for transfers

Depth at corner is an issue. I think we need some JC or drop downs there more than safety. Relying on 2 raw redshirt frosh is tough as backups with any injury. I agree that we have some 3-tech tackles just not sure if Longoria has ability/stamina to be that #2 man at nose guard. Need almost a 300 lb there

I think you guys are missing out on what we have in the bank already too. Longoria was what 315 last year as a freshman? He may be the run blogger we need. Tillman could drop inside, he was 270ish last fall. MMO should be 280s next year. Davidson will be over 300, Rodriguez I heard was at about 260 at year end. Still will be light but I like that kids athetic ability. Davis should be up about 275. Bradly will probably be 280 come season time. Our DTs this year we're inexperienced and the best DT was 275. We actually look solid down low. Longoria and Davidson should have the size to clog the inside while bradly, mmo and Rodriguez will also be cycling in that have a lot of athletic talent. Maybe I'm crazy but I think DT will be a strong suit of ours. DE is pretty stacked now. LB will be better with another year of experience. I'm worried about DBs and S. that's my ? On the D.

I agree the DTs, DEs and LBs are deep with talent and size. With several tweeners that can be mixed and matched for down and distance situations. Seemed as though we were a little light on inside depth in 2016, a few injuries and the guys left were playing too many downs. The addition of DE recruits in the 6-4 250 range that are quick and can tackle an athletic QB will give Buss some help on the edges. Simms is a tough MT guy like Kidder that can play DE but his brute strength is more needed in the middle. He isn't as big as he needs to be yet, so the number of effective snaps will be limited. Can't have enough LBs and this seems to be a strength, hopefully they get the right combo on special teams.

The drop down from UW would have helped but Cats got him. Choate had the connection being there before he took the MSU job obviously. He played a ton and is a player but iffy on character. Refused a piss test right before the Apple Cup........

I will be curious to see if he is still in the Gallatin come 2018.

I am a little confused on why he can't play until 2018. Normally that is not he case with a dropdown. Would you please let me know what I am missing? Thanks.

A dropdown must have 2 or more years of eligibility remaining or be a graduate transfer. Since he has already played 3 seasons, in order to meet this requirement, he must use his redshirt year before his final season of playing eligibility.

Didn't the cats bring in a Db from washinton last year? Was he the one on video doing updowns?
Hope this new Db comes in in better shape for the Cats sake.

Is there a defensive equivalent of DOLA? DDLA, aka diddla? Because that's really all that matters, not some dude's height or weight.

Wait, I should be posting this in the sports clichés thread!

Yeah. Hale. Got kicked off of the team at UW too. Came in out of shape and got hurt so only played in a few games. Not sure how he actually looked when he did play. Guessing him and the new transfer CB will keep the pot dealers busy for these next few years. :o

I fully had the same concerns going into this year, I have been worried about the secondary. Of course it was just the first scrimmage but it looks like our secondary is actually going to be very strong.

The Washington 4 Star CB transfers, Hale and Gardenhire, decided to become the dealers (allegedly).

"We don't need no stinkin' dealers, we can run this m'fudder." (tongue in cheek)

Only high school kids sign letter of intents (and aid agreements).

Transfers just sign aid agreements.
