Greetings from close to the Pole,
Got a chance to watch my first Griz game of the the year, ESPN 2 was picked up by TSN+ streaming service, alas the same is not done for ESPN+.
Thought the atmosphere was great as expected. The noise must have been awesome, very proud of all you WGS faithful.
On offense; I thought both QB's tended to lock in on a single target a bit too often plus a few passes were floated or wobbly. Can't fault either QB's effort. I will admit I don't understand how the coaching staff choses which QB to go with or why so I will leave that to wiser heads than mine. We under use both our RB's. I watched Davis's DT's obliterate the A and B gaps most of the game, but with so many good TE's we should have still tried to establish some C gap stuff instead of just abandoning the run game; 14 carries between our two studs should be done by halftime.
On defense; 30 tackles between two safeties is quite a few. Outside of a couple of LB's, I don't think we have quite the same speed in that group as we did the last few years and that translates into all sorts of drop off in all four directions. Our NT's are the only guys on the D who weigh over 255 so we are still essentially playing a 1-5-5.
Just my thoughts; speaking of which positive thoughts for Keelen White. Saw him getting helped off, hope it was just a twist. As we all know without Canadians around, it's just not the same.
