MWC talking expansion now

They don't have to look at the big sky as nobody here has a high enough credit card limit to play in the MWC.

Looking at Rice and UTEP according to this. Some rumor that Wichita is starting up football and wants in MWC or AAC

If any conference considers Wichita State over UM, we're all in trouble.....

It is about more than football. Wichita State has proven to have a top 25 basketball program as well. Basketball is actually big there. :thumb:

Wichita, I think if Glen Campbell. "I am a lineman for the county...

UM is losing more money on tanking enrollment every year than it would take to join the Mountain West. It's not even going to be MSU's peer in a couple years if Engstrom is president.

UM should express high interest in wanting to join the MWC. Not just because of sports. But it might also aid the university to grow more as it would have more peer institutions. Would it be a big financial move and investment, your darn right it would.

UM must understand that a potential opportunity such as this will not come open often. This could be a move if offered and excepted that could really propell UM in so many different ways.

Sadly however I don't think Engstrong has the foresight and ambition for such. Which is so sad on so many levels.

UM looks to build the Champions Center which athletically will set it so far apart from any other school in the BSC coupled with WA Griz. Honestly why do all that just to have to compete in the BSC?

Who knows what shifts may come in FBS / FCS with the P-5 and the G-5. I can say no matter how all that shakes out UM would be in a much better place being aligned and affiliated with institutions in the MWC rather than many of the schools in the BSC.

The MWC may have zero interest in UM. However it would not hurt one thing for UM to express there interest.

Maybe the move a few years ago to join the WAC was not right. This if offered would be a whole different opportunity.

I honestly don't understand why we haven't considered moving up. I would rather be playing teams like Wyoming, Utah State and Air Force over Idaho State, Northern Colorado and UC Davis every year. This is not intended to be insulting those teams on any level, however to grow as a football program and a University to me it's a no-brainer move, more money from revenue and the conference on top of exposure.

The conference being referred to is the American Athletic Conference, not the ACC. I think Wichita's a good fit for the American.
