Now that I think about it a lot of color guys don't even fulfill that requirement. Speaking of, Marty doing color should be interesting. He's quite the character but I have a feeling I'm going to be annoyed with him by halftime. We shall see.

Color commentators might be the most unnecessary jobs in sports.

Football Radio, color commentators are very useful. Games are 2-3 hours long. It gives the Play-by-Play guy a break from talking, and the color guy can add what he is seeing from the defense, or the line, as the play-by-play guy concentrates on the who, what, and where... Trust me.

I listen to Monday morning quarterback with nuanez and Marty every week. Marty is going to be the best. That dude KNOWS football. He’s someone who can quickly diagnose the offense and defense and tell us fans what’s what.
