MSU has a new running back

Yeah not really sure why this got moved to the sports forum since it involves the FCS and is a lot more relevant than most of the crap in the other forum.

+1

Weird posting MSU recruits to a UM message board, but it was in the appropriate place...

Seems completely appropriate to have MSU information of this nature posted on egriz, and a discussion held there. Most people are interested in the big picture view of who the prime competition has. And this is the off season.

Lawrence academy had to get rid of the football coach due to scandal. Anthony Knight wasn't happy and had this to say. "I could call coach Taylor at 5 AM, and the worst possible thing in the world could happen and he'd get me out of it. If I needed a ride at 5 in the morning, wherever I was, if someone threw me out of a car or something, coach Taylor would come bring me clothes and pick me up."

WTF? So the product of a scandal-ridden prep school goes to Nevada and gets kicked off the team. Maybe Brian Polian wasn't quite as accommodating with the 5AM phone calls as coach Taylor had been.

Hope Ash is an early riser...

There's a lot more to do in Boston at 5am, then in Bozeman.

Leave it to an idiot Bobcat fan to post video of their supposed new running back who was suspended and kicked off Nevada's team for violating team policies. Yay for you for landing a trouble maker and being excited about it.

Seems like a good move to me. The cats are 6 RBs deep so they can afford to take a chance on a talented power back. If he performs well and stays out of trouble, perfect. If he has problems, he's done. And they wouldn't be any worse off if things don't work out.

And it's a fitting replacement after losing tray Robinson as well.

Moved to Sports forum... leaning toward Smack.

Why in the f*** are you a mod?

Umm....what?

A better question might be, "Why in the f*** is a cat fan questioning who the Mods are on a Griz site?".

Because I can. Just saying what everyone's thinking. :coffee:
Blitz... the crusty old scat who hates anyone who questions his delusional thinking. Your posts don't have game. :stfu: :loser: :egriz:

The kid had an MIP and was late paying the fine. His coach said he was good kid in the article. Ash would not take a chance with a kid if he wasn't convinced that he is okay. It was a minor thing that happened. He was slated to be Nevada's # 1 running back.

Well, the story doesn't say what happened. Of course, the coach doesn't describe him as a good kid, either. He says he "doesn't think he's a bad kid". Those two sentences have far different meanings in my mind. That said, as I posted above, I think it's probably worth the risk.

The source on the MIP lives in Reno and went to the school and is a huge fan. Your right the coach said "he doesn't think he is a bad kid". There is a difference granted. Being the #1 running back on the depth chart I take means he has some game. They thought he was one of the best recruits that they had in years. Kirk is still number one. It appears Knight is the same type of power runner at 6'1" 225. He wil be good insurance if Kirk gets injured and a good chance of being more than that. I agree it was worth the risk!

OOOOPS. Guess that insider's info wasn't so reliable.

I thought it was only the Griz coaches that make mistakes...

Some of my msu friends are befuddled by this. Evidently this kid's social media pages were littered with things that would have made any coach question his potential risk to a program. They wonder if Ash even looked at them. These days, I'd think that's a must, especially with an already questionable kid.

Nobody's perfect, and everyone is gonna miss a few. I'm on record of supporting msu originally on this kid. But if there was other evidence that was overlooked or ignored, it does make you wonder.

Maybe i missed it, but was there ever an announcement from msu that this kid was offered a spot on the team?

I know Knight tweeted he was coming to msu, but never saw any confirmation. Was this a malik watson type of situation?
