Most tackles ever???? Seriously?

This can not be a debate on EGriz. Seriously? All it means is that your offense was off the field a lot. Do you guys remember Greg Buttle, led the NFL in tackles two years in a row, for the New York Jets. Just meant his team couldn't move the ball. Probalby wasn't even as good as his partner Lance Mehl, who you also never heard of.

It’s easy to get all the tackles he did when daddy leaves him in all game even though he does stupid sh1t any other player would have been pulled for doing.

It’s also easy to get those tackles when you are blowing your coverage and instead of breaking up passes you have to tackles the WR because you have no athletic ability. He’s slow, and he Cant climb the ladder to the ball.

Daddy can kick rocks if he wants his little prince’s number retired. Robby was the beneficiary of Daddy being HC and better backs sat the bench while daddy’s golden child was allowed to play with impunity.

They won't retire his number right away, but he will probably get the Terry Dillon Award.

It was announced after the Brawl: Mitch Roberts 2 time Terry Dillon Award winner.

Those three long TD runs that NDSU laid on us yesterday............ all caused by Robby, who should be our last line of defense against a team breaking a long run, instead is crashing down to the LOS early in the play, vacating the entire second level of defense. If you remember those three plays, the RB was not even touched by a defender on those long runs.

Severely underrated post here.

No... really. If the offense had shown for a good many of the games over the past couple of years, the stats would have been different. I would like to think to the betterment of the team. More wins. Stat's are stats, but that's the one everyone should be most concerned with.

I mean he was touched. I watched one TD on Twitter where young rob came over to help his teammate(who had the RB in his grasp at the time) run over and push him away, which sprung the guy for a TD. I'm not saying he pushed him on purpose. Just the act of him trying to increase his tackle stats ended up hurting by springing the guy out of the tackle. I think it was 37 on D but I couldn't see the # clearly.

It was 36 Janacaro, and yes, Robby's hit bounced the guy out of his reach and into the open field. As I said in the game thread, people shit on Robby way more than he deserves, but he absolutely messed up there.

But the classic was on the long 3rd down (and very long) and the jump ball pass was defended by 5'6" robby who just got schooled by the receiver.
I won't miss seeing those again.

When your safety leads the team in tackles your defense is suspect...

+1......

Either a suspect defense, or a free safety who cares more about making tackles than doing what free safeties are supposed to do.

Teams target him because you are guaranteed 10 yards.

He’s a ball hawk…at the expense of coverage duties. I agree with Grizzle’s post however. Any defense where the safety is the leading tackler automatically has shortcomings that will never lead you to the promised land.
