More questions than answers.. Week 1

Well, thank God college football season is here, but it seems like after week 1, we have more questions than answers...
Big win for the griz over NDSU... So are the griz really really good, or is NDSU down with lots of departures? Hard to replace an NFL running back. If the griz are that good, does that mean Cal Poly just threw themselves into a legit Contender for the BSC TITLE? Cats struggled vs d2 fort Lewis and was anything but impressive.. Cats overrated or just out of sync? Can they rebounds do and be Considered a contender as well? Eastern proved it can score without VA, so we better keep them in the top of the BSC racer.. What the heck happened to North Dakota? I know it was Wyoming, but you do the win those games unless you have so e talent.. Do they deserve to be in this conversation? And again Portland state... Same thing here...
So is the big Sky as muddy as ever and pretty solid, or are we all just mediocre?

Based on what I witnessed in the one Cat game, and the two Griz games, my conclusion is that the Cats once again lack a strong defense, which will be their un-doing against strong teams. And the Griz have no running game, receivers who drop too many balls, and a QB who throws in-accurate passes too often, but have a very good defense. We'll see what unfolds.

Poly has a great defense, but I was not that impressed with their offense. They will lose some conference games.

And NAU had a good win as well. SUU had a good showing defensively. Somebody mentioned overall anyone but directional Colorado has a shot at winning the majority of their conference games this year. I agree with that. Who stays healthiest really dictates this season.

Looks like some of the teams traditionally thought of as cellar dwellers are improving, especially on defense. SUU, PSU, UND, and Weber

The problem with the NDSU vs. Griz game was that it was so hyped up that even if both teams were just mediocre, we wouldn't have known because we would have just assumed both teams played amazing. NDSU was one play away from winning that game. Cats struggled, but they do have an strong returning offense and they showed improvement on the defensive side, but still have a long road ahead of them. Cal Poly showed they can play, as did Eastern Washington, Portland State, North Dakota, Idaho State, Southern Utah and NAU. I think we will have a strong conference this year and hopefully at least 3 teams in the playoffs.
